Tohono Chul
One of the Tucson area's most important natural attractions might have been a mall had it not been for the gift of a local family - it is now known as Tohono Chul, on Tucson's northwest side where more than 30 acres have been preserved.

Living with Rattlesnakes
A couple of Tucson residents are hoping that more people will learn to appreciate and protect rattlesnakes and other snakes in our region and around the world. Melissa Amarello and Jeff Smith are co-founders of Advocates for Snake Preservation. They are trying to dispel myths about the maligned reptiles and give them a better shot at survival in their interactions / proximity to human beings. However, Amarello and Smith admit it can be a tough sell- rattlesnakes are not seen as beautiful or cuddly as are some species like hummingbirds or panda bears.

Muralist on Murals: Alfonso Chavez
Muralist and community organizer Alfonso Chavez shares his three favorite murals in Tucson. They come from different eras and have different styles but all tell stories that challenge the dominant cultural narrative.

Tiger’s Tap Room
Tom “Tiger” Ziegler worked as a bartender at Hotel Congress for over 60 years. In that time, he saw it all including many changes to downtown Tucson.

SARA'S FIVE DAY TRANSFORMATION

Sara's story is insane!

We had a consultation that was paid for by her friend. We met together so that I could help her with detangling her hair but she didn't have the funds to do so.

Luckily, I've been wanting to start a series of giving back to the community called "Support Your Crown" to help people who don't necessarily have the funds to get their hair detangled, it's what I've been called to do.

Here is Sara's 5-Day Transformation. We originally set out for 3 days, but God had other plans!

After everything: Sara's Vertigo Diagnosis, Accident, Being Hospitalized for a MONTH, and her tangled hair staying like that for 8 MONTHS, she overcame her worst insecurity!

A 1920's theory, may have just helped a team from UCSF to tackle cancer by turning your own fat into a weapon...no radiation, no chemo, just bioengineered cells that outcompete tumours for the fuel they desperately need to survive.

They're using genetically modified brown fat to out compete tumors for glucose. It almost sounds like using artificial tumors to glucose starve the natural one...

The PET scan shown in the video is like the one done to me last year that found the two tumors hiding in my liver. They pumped me with radioactive glucose, then just watched for tissues that were soaking it in.

The Strange Horror of Quantum Eternity | Divided By Infinity

There are countless ways you could die today. A blood vessel could rupture in your brain. A distracted driver could cross the center line. Your heart could simply stop. From somewhere above us, high-energy particles pass through our bodies every second, and on exceedingly rare occasions microscopic events can begin chains of consequences large enough to kill. We tend not to think about this because, from our perspective, only one thing actually happens. You either make it home tonight or you don't. But what if that isn't true? What if every physically possible outcome actually occurs somewhere? There is a universe where the driver misses you, another where he doesn't, another where you never got into the car at all. And if all of those realities exist, there is a disturbing question hiding inside the idea: what happens from your point of view? You can experience surviving. You can experience waking up after the accident, hearing the doctor say the treatment worked, discovering that the bullet missed. But you can never experience being dead. That asymmetry between survival and death is what we need to focus on here. If consciousness can only ever find itself on branches where it continues, then survival is not really luck, it’s actually a forced migration through possibility.

And the big question is, if the universe keeps filtering you into whatever reality still contains a living version of you, then how far can that reality drift from the world I started in?
