My vote right now is neglect/accident. Witnesses in the area report the Russians wiped out their own troops on the eastern bank. Unless there were active Ukrainian units in the region, or they expected an imminent attack, I can't see them wanting secrecy so bad that they'd kill their own. They usually save that for things like the open fighting between Wagner and Russian forces.

Who am I kidding, they're so bad at this I can see them forgetting they had troops there.

That Russian Army Chief Prigozhin interview is ... enlightening.

Trying to find a link but having trouble. CNN is running it pretty regularly. He's talking about huge losses and generals facing firing squads soon lol.

Not sure if this will work.

Chernobyl Workers Reveal Occupying Russian Soldiers Showed Signs Of Radiation Poisoning

Employees of the Chernobyl nuclear plant say Russian soldiers showed signs of radiation poisoning during their occupation. They say some developed huge blisters and were vomiting after ignoring warnings about digging trenches in radioactive soil.

what about the double whammy. The CIA gave Ukraine some DARPA developed cloaking dam buster missiles that just happen to fit into the HIMARS.

So for added fun, the Russian soldiers are apparently looting flooded homes now and the Red Cross and UN had a pretty good idea where the land mines were. Welp now there is a worry they might be floating in the flood and could go off if they hit or are hit by debris.

Russia's 'Smoking Gun' on Ukraine Dam Collapse

ARussian law passed days before the destruction of the Nova Kakhovka dam in southern Ukraine could be a "smoking gun" in proving Russia's involvement in the incident, according to an expert.

On May 30, a week before the dam's collapse, the Russian government approved a law aimed at "ensuring the safety of hydraulic structures" in the Ukrainian regions it proclaimed to have annexed in September 2022—the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, in Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia.

The legislation states that until January 1, 2028, investigations into accidents at hydro-technical structures that occurred as a result of military operations, sabotage and terrorist activities are prohibited. The decree was signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and came into effect on the day it was published.

The Soviet-era dam is part of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station in southern Ukraine on the Dnieper River. It was breached in the early hours of June 6, unleashing water on swaths of land as a long-anticipated Ukrainian counteroffensive to take back the seized territories kicked off.

Russia maintains that it wasn't behind its collapse and has accused Ukraine of blowing up the dam to distract attention from a "faltering" counteroffensive. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russian forces of blowing up the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station from inside the facility as part of a "terrorist attack."

Mounting evidence increasingly points to Russian involvement in the attack, Newsweek has been told.

Samantha de Bendern, associate fellow at the Chatham House think tank's Russia and Eurasia program, shared the Russian legislation on Twitter, writing: "Smoking gun for the #KakhovkaDam?"

The dam's collapse has caused widespread devastation in Ukraine's partially occupied Kherson region. Zelensky has described the situation as "an environmental bomb of mass destruction" that has left hundreds of thousands of people without normal access to drinking water.

Thousands have been ordered to evacuate from the partially occupied Kherson region amid rising water levels. Ukrainian animal welfare charity UAnimals coordinating rescue missions in the region told Newsweek it estimates that tens of thousands of animals will die due to flooding.

Oleg Ustenko, an economic adviser to Zelensky, told Newsweek the overall price tag of the dam's destruction is "billions of dollars," while Ivan Fedorov, the mayor of the city of Melitopol in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia region, told Newsweek the incident marked a "new stage of the war."

    Kremlin Playbook

Keir Giles, senior consulting fellow at the Chatham House think tank's Russia and Eurasia program, said the May 30 legislation follows the Kremlin's playbook, which seeks "to pretend that it operates according to some semblance of legality."

"Russia has a perverse fascination with performative legalization of its most horrific crimes...it repeatedly puts in place in advance laws that give preemptive excuses for its actions," Giles told Newsweek.

"Sometimes this can give an indication of what is to come," said Giles, pointing to legislation on mass burials that was updated by Russia ahead of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine and came into effect on February 1, 2022—weeks before the war began.

"So in the case of the destruction of the Kakhovka dam, the passing a week beforehand of this bizarrely specific law covering precisely those circumstances is indeed a clear indication of Russian intent," Giles added.

Newsweek reached out to the Russian Foreign Ministry via email for comment.

Anders Åslund, an economist and adjunct professor at Georgetown University, Washington, DC, said the May 30 decree "only concludes what we already knew."

"Russian propagandists advocated blowing up the dam. Ukrainian officials announced last fall that the Russians had mined both the dam and the connected tunnels in October-November 2022," Åslund, who has served as an economic adviser to the governments of both Russia and Ukraine, told Newsweek.

"Several explosions were recorded, which show that they were underwater, while the Russians claimed that the Ukrainians had bombed it from the air, which seems close to impossible for technical reasons. The explosions occurred on the Russian side.

"The Russians followed up blowing up several smaller dams—recorded by the Ukrainians. And now you have this law," he said, adding: "The evidence seems overwhelming that it was the Russians who did it."

Ok, I totally take it back, it was 100% the Russians. I wonder if the families of the Russian troops that got wiped out by the flood will ever get justice.

I saw something today that said this whole thing has worked out about as poorly for Russia as they could have possibly ever feared.

It's sending other countries running *towards* NATO instead of fracturing it, solidifying relationships between western nations instead of destabilizing them, and fostering cooperation and concern instead of bickering or even neutrality.

Russian imperial ambitions are a joke now, Russian's dependent on foreign currency (and will likely never get back to previous export levels), China's pissed, and I wouldn't be surprised if Belarus and Kazakhstan start making moves towards a NATO way of life after this.

The Wagner Group is in open revolt against Russia's Ministry of Defense after the MoD allegedly fired missiles into a rear-area Wagner camp:

Is this actually a false flag attack by America designed to cause revolt amongst the righteous, well-supplied Russian forces? Won't someone tell us the truth?!?

There's military vehicles on the streets of Moscow, the governor in the area of Russia where Wagner is supposedly operating has told all residents to stay indoors, Wagner is claiming to have shot down a Russian chopper, the FSB is launching a criminal case against Prigozhin (Wagner's leader) for mutiny. I love it when false flag operations go all-in when trying to appear realistic!

Re: So, USA's setting up another false flag war, but one that will bite us all in the

Things are moving so quickly, too. Talked to the Crazy Russian, who has enough stress in her life (a literal crackhead that bought a car at her dealership decided he likes her, so he keeps coming back with stolen flowers and goods with the dye tags still on them, and her co-workers refuse to kick the guy off the lot because they're buying the stolen goods when she refuses them), about what happened tonight. She called her mother in Moscow: "Everything is fine here! Believe nothing you hear! It's all good!" Her father, however, who maintained all along that he knew what was REALLY happening though his Soviet-era connections, and that CR's Western sources were are wrong, is in shock. He's calling it a civil war, and his family (which was on a short vacation away from Moscow) is trying to figure out how to stay away from the city. I told her at around 8:30 pm PST, when we first talked, that Prigozhin seemed to just want to get to Ministry of Defense figures (Shoigu and Gerasimov), so as long as her parents weren't near the MoD building they should be OK. When she asked him if he lived near the MoD building, his deadpan response was, "Close enough."

This is the e-mail I sent her tonight with updates, so when she wakes up she can get caught up on what has happened overnight. I'll put it in spoilers so it doesn't overwhelm the thread with its length. There's a lot of "THIS IS BIG" info in here.

    Spoiler for Massive e-mail:
These are all insights from live sources. Some include videos that I won't link here. The first sentences are from four hours ago, and it gets more current as you keep reading my e-mail.

Rostov is completely controlled by Wagner. Sounds like most of the people/troops there fell in with Wagner without fighting.

Wagner forces pushing north on the M4 are fighting Russian troops at Pavlovsk. At least two Wagner vehicles have been struck.

Shoigu apparently left Rostov "in a hurry" last night, while Gerasimov stayed in town and has been drinking all week, anticipating "some kind of attack". No word on Gerasimov's current status.

Prigozhin has released another video, showing him in the Rostov army HQ "negotiating" with the deputy defense minister (unclear if deputy DM is a prisoner or not). He repeats his demand for Shoigu and Gerasimov, and "until they're here, we'll block off Rostov and head to Moscow."

Video shows security forces (Rosgvardia / OMON) entering the Wagner HQ in St. Petersburg. In Moscow, video shows people taking down all the billboards advertising joining up with Wagner.

Prigozhin is spilling the tea on the scale of casualties in the war. From his latest video: “we hold the airbase but aren’t interfering with strikes in Ukraine… they will blame us for hurting the war effort but it isn’t our fault..we found that losses are much larger than reported, 3-4x what is reported upwards and 10x what they say on TV.”

(UNCONFIRMED) Military facilities in Voronezh have switched sides to Wagner. Take this one with a huge grain of salt, since it's an Ukrainian flagged source, until someone independent can corroborate. As at midnight our time, Wagner is also claiming that Voronezh has fallen, and all military facilities are under their control.

Major report from Russian (non-state) sources: Russia's security forces are reported to be in disarray following the attempted mutiny by the Wagner Group. It seems to have been perfectly timed for a moment – Friday night – when many personnel were too drunk to respond quickly, while others are refusing to fight Wagner. The VChK-OGPU Telegram channel reports what its sources are saying is the situation within various security organisations. At the FSB and Ministry of Internal Affairs, "Everyone is up and running, urgently reporting in. Now all the offices are like one big after-party." "80 per cent of the staff smell of booze. Some of them can barely stand on their feet. Can't arm 'em, can't send 'em anywhere. Friday night's the perfect time to start something like this. Everybody's standing around, waiting for something. No introductions." "A couple of hours more and the conflicts among themselves will start when [the alcohol] starts to wear off." Unwillingness to fight Wagner appears to be a common theme. "There is real panic in Rostov, especially among the police. There is more than a 40 percent shortfall in personnel among those called up in connection with Operation Fortress" (to defend security installations). Wagner forces were able to cross the border from Ukraine without opposition, despite orders not to let them through. "Both the border service of the FSB and the Interior Ministry received instructions to stop the Wagner PMC. No one is complying, as it is not realistic." Most ominously for the Kremlin, elements of the security forces appear to be actively siding with Wagner or refusing to act against it. "The defence ministry has lost control over a number of units and formations of the South Eastern Military District, it will not be possible to organise defence by the Rosgvardia [Russian National Guard] and the FSB. Local leaders are extremely careful in their statements". "Attempts to counter Prigozhin are only going through the FSB and the National Guard. The Ministry of Defence has simply withdrawn, junior officers either refuse to follow orders or directly support Wagner." And Shoigu and the [MOD leadership] team just hid and completely lost touch with reality. The fear is obviously serious." Wagner is reported to be directly taking control of some South Eastern Military District units. "A number of units of the Ministry of Defence that participated in the war are beginning to come under the command of Wagner. Entire corps. Shoigu and Gerasimov's people are being removed." General Gerasimov himself has not been seen in public since the mutiny began. According to Wagner channels, he was in Rostov when it fell to Wagner forces. He is said to have "escaped from the Rostov [military] headquarters along with people loyal to him” and “is holed up in a civilian apartment with his friends in Rostov.”

Wagner has set up roadblocks in Aksay, Rostov Region.

Putin addressed the nation. Full address text: "I appeal to the citizens of Russia, to the personnel of the Armed Forces, law enforcement and security services, fighters and commanders currently fighting on their positions, repelling the enemy attacks, doing it heroically. I spoke to the commanders in all directions last night. I appeal also to those who were deceptively pulled into the criminal adventure, pushed towards a serious crime of an armed mutiny. Russia today is leading the most difficult war for its future, repelling the aggression of neo-nazis and their handlers. Against us, the whole military, economical and information machines of the West are turned. We fight for the lives and security of our people. For our sovereignty and independence. The right to remain Russia, a state with 1000 years of history. It's a battle where the fate of our people is decided requires uniting of all our forces, unity, consolidation and responsibility. Everything else hat weakens us must be shoved to the side. Our external enemies are using any arguments to undermine us from within. Thus, actions splitting our unity is a betrayal of our people, our combat brothers who fight now at the frontline. It’s a strike in the back of our country and our people. Exactly this strike was dealt in 1917 when the country was in WW1, but its victory was stolen. Intrigues, and arguments behind the army’s back turned out to be the greatest catastrophe, destruction of the army and the state, loss of huge territories, resulting in a tragedy and a civil war. Russians were killing Russians, brothers killing brothers. But the beneficiaries were various political chevaliers of fortune and foreign powers who divided the country, and tore it into parts. We will not let this happen. We will protect our people and state from any threats, including internal betrayal. What we’re facing is exactly internal betrayal. Extraordinary ambitions and personal interests led to treason. Treason of their own country and people and of the case that fighters of Wagner were dying for alongside our soldiers. Heroes who liberated Soledar and Artemivsk, towns and cities of the Donbas. They fought and were giving lives to Novorossiya and the unity of the Russian world. Their name and glory were also betrayed by those who are trying to organise the mutiny, pushing the country into anarchy and brother-killing, to a defeat, in the end, and capitulation. Repeat: any internal mutiny is a deadly threat to our state, to us as a nation. It’s a strike against our nation, our people. And our actions to defend the fatherland from such a threat will be brutal. Anyone who consciously went on the path of betrayal, who prepared the armed mutiny, went on the path of blackmail and terrorist actions, will take an inevitable punishment. They will answer to the law and our people. The Armed Forces and other departments were properly instructed. Extra anti-terrorist measures are now being implemented in Moscow, Moscow region, and a number of other regions. Decisive actions will be taken to stabilise the situation in Rostov-on-Don. It remains difficult. The operation of civilian and military control departments is practically blocked. As a President of Russia and the Supreme Commander, as a citizen of Russia, I will do everything to defend the country, protect the Constitution, lives and safety, liberty of the citizens. Those who prepared the military mutiny, who raise weapons against combat brothers, have betrayed Russia, and will pay for this. And those who are being pulled into the crime, I’m asking to not make this crucial, tragic, unrepeatable mistake. Do the one right choice - stop participating in criminal actions. I believe that we will defend and preserve what’s sacred for us. And together with the motherland, we will overcome all challenges, and become even stronger."

Ministry of Defense statement: "We appeal to Wagner assault squads. You were tricked into Prigozhin's criminal adventure and participating in an armed rebellion. Be prudent and get in touch with our representatives as soon as possible. We guarantee safety." This comes after Commander Zeki of a "Storm-Z unit", part of the 71st Guards Regiment expressed his full support for Prigozhin. Storm-Z are so called penal batallions and mainly consist of convicted Russian inmates. The commander himself was sentenced to 26 years in prison.

Wagner has downed two Russian forces helicopters.

Shit, things just got real. At 12:45 our time, in the Wagner PMC Telegram channel: "Putin made the wrong choice. All the worse for him. Soon we will have a new president." Who made that statement isn't clear - it could be an underling that spoke in error - but it's the first concrete indication that this isn't just a fight for power under Putin, but rather a full-blown coup. And now journalists are calling it a coup.

I'll keep updating as I see new things. In the meantime, to try and keep your spirits up, here's a video that reminded me a lot of your "jump to serve you" newspaper ad from years ago:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/cute/commen...uggle_is_real/

To explain the joke at the end: years and years ago, when she was working for a different small dealership, management decided to do a print ad showing all the employees jumping in the air with the caption "We JUMP to serve you!" She was wearing heels, and she was worried she'd break her ankle if she did as told. So the ad comes out and it's everybody else jumping high up, arms in the air, and her in the middle, standing on the ground with her arms straight up like she's being robbed. I've never seen a picture capture someone's essence as well as that one did.

Re: So, USA's setting up another false flag war, but one that will bite us all in the

Looks like Wagner has Rostov-on-Don, has Voronezh (about halfway to Moscow), and is continuing north. Russian Armed Forces are setting up a roadblock and defensive line at the bridge over the Oka River near Serpukhov, 50 km south of Moscow. Note that roadblock is on the M2, and Wagner is advancing up the M4. No reports on what the RAF is doing to stop the advance on the M4. Speculation is they're about to blow all the bridges across the Oka to stop the advance.

Grocery stores in Rostov-on-Don are being emptied out in a giant rush for food and supplies. Moscow is on terrorist activity lockdown, so I'm guessing it's impossible to rush the grocery stores there right now.

An-24 troop transport plane shot down by Wagner at Kantemirovka, near the Ukrainian border.

There's air raid sirens in Voronezh, and the oil depot there is completely consumed in flames after an attack by Russian helicopters. The RAF is already in desperation mode if they're blowing up oil depots on Russian soil just to deny Wagner access to fuel. It's showing in other areas - a family got shot by National Guard forces at Boguchar because the Guard forces thought the family's car was Wagner.

Kadyrov has declared that the Chechens are coming to aid Russia, and have already left home to join the conflict.

Putin has officially called on the Russian equivalent of NATO, with Belarus and Kazakhstan, for aid. Never mind the jokes about Russia being the second strongest army in Ukraine, now they're the second strongest army in Russia. Jesus.

The Wagner military convoy has been spotted a short way south of Yefremov. Yefremov is 315 km from Moscow, or just under 200 miles. Now it's apparent why Russian forces are acting so desperate - they're about to be overrun in short order. Lots of private jets reported to be leaving Moscow. Quote from Twitter: "Biden gave 5.6% of the defence budget to Ukraine, and what did he get for it? Other than the complete internal collapse of America’s greatest and longest running geopolitical enemy, I mean"

Gulagu, a Russian human rights organization, is reporting that Prigozhin lied about being short on ammunition and has been stockpiling for two months to prepare for today.

Lukashenko, the president of Belarus, has fled Belarus:

    https://www.express.co.uk/news/world...us-russia-coup

So Russia isn't getting any help there, and that country could likely fall to a coup as well. The country that just got a shipment of tactical nukes from Russia.

And finally, dump trucks filled with sand are being placed at every entrance to Moscow. So the Russians clearly expect Wagner to arrive sooner rather than later.

    Summary of earlier stuff:

There has been limited fighting, including several aircraft being shot down, but the majority of territory taken by Wagner has been voluntarily ceded by local authorities and regular Russian troops. Wagner tracked vehicles are not fighting through towns, but have remained on wheeled transports for quick transportation towards Moscow.

Moscow, Voronezh, and Rostov authorities have declared shelter in place orders, cancelled public events (including the citywide Youth Day celebrations planned for today), and declared a "Counter Terrorist Operation" to be in effect. Tracked and wheeled military vehicles have been spotted near the Russian state Duma (parliament) and the Kremlin, as well as transportation and other government facilities.
