He was a great actor. I know Goodfellas was one of his best known roles, but I really liked him in Field Of Dreams, especially the line about Ty Cobb.

Yeah he has had some iconic roles. R.I.P.

One of my favorites of his is actually an obscure old '80's movie, Something Wild.

Something Wild was a good movie. Great soundtrack too.

Andy "Fletch" Fletcher of Depeche Mode has died. He was only 67 years old, but his influence and creativity for the band meant more than just about anything else.

David Warner, 80, cancer-related illness. You may remember him as the guy who made Picard scream about lights on ST:TNG:

I didn't realize, as a non-basketball person, exactly how much of a championship player Bill Russell was until I started reading the obits. He was the Jean Beliveau of basketball!

I have to confess I wasn't aware of how statistically dominant he was either. 21 - 0 in "winner take all" games, including NBA game 7 championships, NCAA college basketball championships, and Olympic gold medal games. I don't know of any athlete in any sport more successful.
