Thread: I made an automatic top off for my reef tank's sump.

I made an automatic top off for my reef tank's sump.

I always wanted one of these, and was never really sure how to make one myself, let alone how to wire a relay. With a little perseverance, googling, and problem solving using basic skills of deduction, I managed to wire this baby correctly on the first attempt.

    Cost me about $16

I had never wired anything to a relay before, so I was very glad that I got to do it with this project.

I plan to wire a surge and tidal system, next.

I have used one of these for a project I did.

See, that is exactly what i wanted to use my pi for, and i might still, but for the time being, i had to use this.

I am going to eventually program my pi for this.

I actually didn't even use it with a pi, just a simple 12v switch. I use it to turn on the vacuum in my bead blast cabinet.

Random bits of rusty metal or things I'm going to paint.

    I dabble in machining.
