    Sad End of Graffe's

It's been a lot of years for it to wimper and crawl away like this. Really too bad. No Grindel. No mods really. None of the technical issues get addressed really. No one posting interesting threads really.

    Oh well.

April is the cruellest month, breeding
Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
    Memory and desire, stirring
    Dull roots with spring rain.

    --From The Wasteland
    I go missing
    No longer exist
    One day
    I hope
    I’m someone you miss

Here is more where we are at:

Let us go, through certain half-deserted streets,
    The muttering retreats
Of restless nights in one-night cheap hotels
    And sawdust restaurants with oyster-shells:
Streets that follow like a tedious argument
    Of insidious intent

    Prufrock! *swoon*

Streets that follow like a tedious argument.

Probably one of the top 5 lines ever written in the history of the English language!

So, is the site actually shutting down or are you waxing poetic?

That time of year thou mayst in me behold
When yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hang
Upon those boughs which shake against the cold
Bare ruin'd choirs, where late the sweet birds sang.
In me thou seest the twilight of such day
As after sunset fadeth in the west,
Which by and by black night doth take away
Death's second self, that seals up all in rest.
In me thou see'st the glowing of such fire
That on the ashes of his youth doth lie,
As the death-bed whereon it must expire
Consumed with that which it was nourish'd by.
This thou perceivest, which makes thy love more strong
To love that well which thou must leave ere long.

    Also:

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
    The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
    Are full of passionate intensity.

    Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?
    -William Butler Yeats

You're not even slightly entertaining any more, Dmitry, can you please just go away and never come back?

Actually -- the Prufrock reference was better than any ten recent threads, IMO.

    *Honorable mention: Ali's Yeats quote.

    Yes it is sad...

The question to be asked though:

Do you actually believe you are helping?
I've got beer to drink and You guys are wasting my time.

That's awesome. Is that the whole thing or is there more to it?

    My contribution to the theme:

    Bear in mind
    That death is a drum
    Beating forever
    Till the last worms come
    To answer its call,
    Till the last stars fall,
    Until the last atom
    Is no atom at all,
    Until time is lost
    And there is no air
    And space itself
    Is nothing nowhere,
    Death is a drum,
    A signal drum,
    Calling life
    To come!
    Come!
    Come!

    Langston Hughes
