I doubt they will allow anything other then letters.
i'm sure they do but still they cant and wont add every tm names of the world :p now it was clear on their names policy chart that you're on own vs ownersQuote:
They've clearly got a list of locked names that they consider to be problematic
i kinda agree that its not that cool to use such names , and i agree even more about religious names , now i'm just concerned about some namess from mythology . There are so many version , in novels , movies , tv (those awful and gross xena and hercule series :s) , cartoons , anime (saint seiya anyone ??) , that using it while creating your very own version of the character , no i would even say create your own character with just the mytho name , doesnt feel wrong in any way .Quote:
I'm certainly not going to complain. It really irks me when people try to recreate their favourite character from popular fiction in an MMORPG
as an Exemple i've always been fan of Norse Myths , and i often picked up names ( and not famous stuff like thor , odin) but mostly rather unknown ones , when i didnt created some , and i can't feel wrong in any way with it :p
PS : i know that my actual forum name looks sure unoriginal :p , but there are various reasons not involving in any way matrix , nor really religion , for me to use it , now i'm only used to that name ouside rpg for as avrious reasons and to let my friend recognize me (and Baah i realise now that i shouldnt even need to explain that :p :))
You know, I'm kind of annoyed that you can't have religious names. My SN is usually Agent-Jesus. . .in games such as Warcraft 3 and Starcraft. In Diablo 2, I had the whole theme going. Paladin was Agent-Jesus, Barbarian was Agent-Buddha, etc. In EQ, my name was Gnomomancer. None are very immersive, but are they really affecting other people's games that much?
I also saw a screenshot with a dwarf named GimliRules.
Oh, and excellent WoW right-up/info. I registered to say that at around page 10, but it wouldn't let me post for a while :( .
well as much as i would like to keep using my actual alias for an undead and /r evil oriented guy , i undertsand that my name could seem shocking (in fact i would proly go for a more rp name but i like the idea of having choices)...
In fact i'm consternated that such offended people could exist :s , if you're so offended by me wearing the lucifer name you can simply ignore in the game of become an evil exterminator ( not to mention how stupid for people with such narrowed view about games , musics , movies , arts to even interest themselves to a game full of demons :p) , but hey it aint my call , and i'll play by the rules , eventually i'll just pick the name of a demonic/evil guy from myths or my imagination even worse than religious icons and the dumbest part being such intolerant people not noticing :p
i guess that in the same way some people cant see what's wrong with l33t and weird names ( god those are so wrong and annoying lol) .
I can understand why Blizzard only allows U.S. residents to play in the closed beta.
But I would really like to know is if there will be a worldwide release?
Since I'm living in the Netherlands (Europe) I'm interested to hear if anyone has heared something about this.
Both beta and the final release will be international in scope.Quote:

well the latest part of beta is supposed to be open beta wich pretty much mean well worldwide if i'm not wrong . As for the final game localisation are planned not that i even cared ... back in my EQ days there was only us servers and not even announce of a european one
i care even the less about localised versions when i can only find french translations of rpgs and many games horrid , especially voices , when besides the blizzard ones are so funny and specials
still i understand the need of them
What I meant was if the game will be in european stores at same time as they appear in US stores.
ah well , no one could know here i guess... and with localisations i doubt so even more , unless you find a place with imported us games (even then better luck with pre order on websites...)
The last three Blizzard games have been simultaneous worldwide releases. So probably so.Quote:

mmm nope with localisations there were some days of difference as ex for war3 and his extension (not sure for the extension thought), at least in some countries
now if those were indeed worlwide release , even so local stores can have unpredictable issues wich would explain this .
Still i'm pretty sure that while i got my game in due time because pre-ordered and us version , most of my friends got the localised one like 2-3 days after..(and games bought from pretty various stores)
ok thanx.
Another question: I haven't seen any screenshots yet where I could see the Night Elf buildings from WC3, you know the big walking trees.
Will they appear in WoW?
Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.
I recall seeing an Ancient Protector in an early game play video, so I'd assume there are some ancients in the game.
The breadcrumb quest that leads night elves from Teldrassil to Darkshore involves carrying a message to an Ancient of Lore.
How do Surname's work? Do you pick them from the get-go, or do you have to accomplish something (i.e. attain specific level, complete a quest, earn an item)?
They haven't announced how they're going to handle surnames yet, but they have said that they will be part of the game. Dunno yet. ;)Quote:

This is a more EQ specific problem - how it applies to WoW depends on the relative predictability and rarity of high end content. For example, on Everquest there are popular encounters that take about an hour and can be killed once per week. With free server movement a single guild could kill that particular encounter on every single server each week, depriving everyone else of the chance to try it.Quote:

So, how hard is it to make 1 gold?
Is it something you will have in sufficient supply whenever needed for any purchases and training, or do you regularly have to save and forgo certain things to get others?
For the most part, you will earn the money you need for your level-based expenses (spells, etc.) without much trouble. That is, if you're not spending a lot of time buying stuff from shops, trying to buy a tabard, and so on. In those cases, you may find yourself sweating a little bit more.
Of course, that's without factoring in the player economy. Smart folks are able to make quite a bit of scratch at relatively low levels, but this is all subject to change as everyone gets comfortable with the good quests, populations age, etc. The level restrictions on ALL items should cut down on some of the worst of the market distortions that EQ has, but there's still the question of how many obsolete items will still be in circulation. NPC vendors do offer a fair price for items, though, so plenty of people skip trying to sell something in the Trade channel and just remove it from circulation entirely.
Can you tell us a little about what are the available pet commands and how dungeon friendly are them? Do they respond well to commands? Can you back them off from a creep and redirect it to another? Can you tell it to stay in a spot no matter if it is been attacked? Are there any big pathing problems?
Are pets aggro magnets, since they are usually lower level than the player? Do they benefit from auras and totems? Can they be buffed? Can other players heal and buff them?
Is there a "voice grafft" type spell? (talk through the pet) Do pets "poof" if you go invisible? Can pets keep up pace when you are riding a mount?
Do warlocks get any defensive spells for when the pet is dead? (ex:snare, root, stun, sleep, etc.)
Is there a variable pet level when you summon them like in EQ? (get a level 20-22 pet with the same summon spell when your character level is constant)
Can you give emote commands to pets? (/pet dance, /pet laugh)
Thans for answering so many questions and taking time from your playing fun.
It was like everybodys dream to get a name like that in WC3. Computer(Easy), Computer(Hard), Computer(Insane) w/ an I, Computer(lnsane) w/ a lowercase L. Closed. Open. :pQuote:

Could someone explain about the group linking system in detail. And or answer these questions please.
1 is there a linked group chat channel ?
2 Can you see what was looted and by whom?
3 Is the experience shared by all the linked groups or simply the most damage done ALA raids are not for xp which was the cry of the people who got all the xp on the raids.P
4 Can you set looting rights on the mobs that die to linked groups?
5 Is there a WOW DKP program in the game or on the way thats user friendly and easy to update and maintain ?
6 Are there parse programs for melee and spell casters ?
Although these may seem premature I am asking because these were and are
very real issues that were not adressed until very late in Everquest. My sole online gaming experience so far which I admit is only about 3 years in total.
While I readily admit my knowledge of gaming systems and how they should and should not work is far from complete. My knowledge of people and how they value their time is not. While a DKP system is not perfect its far better than any loot division system I have seen or experienced so far.
I would not tolerate a variable salary for a set amount of performance or the mandatory workday. I definitely wont tolerate it in a game I play or may play for entertainment purposes either.
In the current push, there is no facility for linking groups to form raids. It is a future feature.
I think it was mentioned previously, but group looting has 3 options; FFA, Roundrobin and ML. Roundrobin is a hoot. I was exceedingly lucky last nite, while my partners in a 3 man group were not so lucky. Of course I relented relented and gave them some of the crappier items. LOL
I love round robin looting, FFA loot is something i try to shy away from, and when someone tosses the group to FFA, i become wary....dunno why.
ML in a group is fine if you have someone with a lot of bag space, but i've found that bag space is at a premium with all my characters, so much that i've got 10-slot bags in my bank vault. I've destroyed grey-items to make room for something, or destroyed tradeskill stuff to make room in my bags for something that just dropped.
In 99% of the groups i've been in, round robin is the way to go. You can always set rules for your group that green or better items will be randomed on prior to starting the adventure. I did Wailing Caverns instance with a really nice group of people, we all left with a 10-slot bag and some item that would be an upgrade for us. I picked up 4 of the bags myself (they called me the bag lady afterwards).
The guild options are coming. Considering that the WoW dev team is lead by a former guild leader of one of EQ's biggest guilds, I have faith that the tools will be robust and useful. (I STILL love LoY just for giving EQ guild leaders a semi-decent tool, and I'm expecting WoW's to be even better.)
I assume there is some sort of /random command?
it is /random 100, for a random number between 0 and 100
Thank you for answering my questions. It is very appreciated having less and less free time I am kicking the tires so to speak. I like the ideas the beta info and all the posts and screenshots. I am also curious and like lotsa info on something that I plan on doing as a hobby.

Maybe they appear during the end sequence when you beat the game (Origonal i think, on hard for the last mission) and it has the Marines vs the Space orcs part.
Starcraft units are available in the editor because of that end sequence, yes.
iirc, that sequence first has space marines beating off a zerg attack (hydralisks and zerglings), and then getting overun by the orcs.
Given how the hydralisk gets beaten down in Night Elf II if you use him as one of your troops for the attack on the undead base, I'm not surprised.
Ooh, I'll have to play with the editor, then. Neato. :)Quote:

l33t beta info
Let me begin by saying that WoW will be my first MMORPG, and that is because I generally don't like to pay for games after the initial purchase, but in this case I will make an exception because it's Warcraft and it's Blizzard and it looks and sounds absolutely awesome. That having been said, I must also point out that I have been playing games for a number of years, but just not in the MMO genre, but WoW has my complete attention which is definitely a rare thing. I saw a small blurb about it in 2001 (I think, it was so long ago) during the development of wc3 and ever since then I have been looking for anything and everything I could find about it, and now that it is almost here I am starting to get a bit excited, but it still has about six months left so I can't get too excited just yet. But I was lead to this thread by the WoW beta site and I have been watching its progression over the last two weeks or so, but am making my first post now due to the fact that I have been on spring break for the last week.
I now salute Whizbang, not on being a veteran EQ player, but because of that most awesome of posts regarding WoW. Now that I have seen that, I think I am in even more trouble than I was in previously because now I am beginning to have dreams of running through Azeroth, jk, but just barely.
Now I get to continue my post and comment on quite a bit that I have seen in this thread up to this point.
In regards to PvP servers and PvE servers, it seems that the simplest idea is one which has not been posted yet. That would be for Blizzard to go ahead and have the servers separate, but to also have a set of servers which are neither solely PvP nor PvE, but servers that allow both styles of players to interact with one another, which would provide the sort of challenge that some PvE players enjoy, with the added paranoia of having to run in circles to avoid getting ganked by some random butt hole, not my idea of fun, but to each his own. This would also keep the PvP people from bitching about separate servers being a dumb idea, granted that most of these people are the ones who lobby for the freedom of unconcensual PvP and run around PKing, but then they wouldn't have anything to complain about.
Next, pointy hats rule!!!
The Burning Legion has nothing on the Gnomes of the Pointy Hat.
But if it is at all possible, I would like to see a Night Elf in a pointy hat.
As it is probably fairly clear as to my stance on PvP or PvE (PvE!!!!) I still have an idea of something that sounds fun to me at least, but the point of a forum is for others to debate the pros and cons of such ideas so here it goes. Somewhere on this thread is a post about RvR being a possibility, or something similar to RvR. My idea takes this to a new level, an all out battle between the Horde and the Alliance, hundreds or even thousands of players from each faction coming together to take part in one massive battle against the other side, but all those people in the same place at once might cause server problems, but that is why it is an idea. Like I said, I'm not a PvP person, but this kind of thing does sound cool to me.
I'm sure there are other things I will post about later, but I think I should end this post soon, but before I do.
All you alpha and beta people, I want to hear anything and everything you have to say about the game at this point, you can tell me about some random town or dungeon, I don't care, I wanna hear it all because at this point I am not in beta, and it doesn't seem like I will be until it opens to everyone, or until WoW hits stores. I wanna know about what the capital cities are like the first time you see them.
Oh yeah, also, people have posted about the first griffon ride being the coolest part of their game so far, at what level, or point in the game is riding a griffon available?
Btw, I plan for my first character to be a Night Elf Rogue, I"m a sneaky bastard.
The name Mountain Man has nothing to do with my characters in any type of game, it is just a nickname of mine.
edit: I can edit if you can, nyah :D
DKP systems are best left to people who run/organize raids, it'd be near impossible to have an in-game system for it which would make any one guild/group happy, as pretty much every implementation of DKP I see, varies from guild to guild. The concept is the same - Get points for being there, spend points on items, but beyond that .. theres loads of other 'tweaks' which guilds use to suit their needs (level of activity, tires, some use DKP-auctions, others have it so only the top DKP range can go in, ie: a person with only 5 points cant comppete with someone who has 20), etc, etc, etc.Quote:

Features like once raids are in, being able to keep track of everyone who's joined the raid, and dump that to a text file/etc would be usefull, along with items looted/stats. Once the raid leaders have the raw data its upto them to make the tools/whatever to handle it, much like people do now.
wouldnt supprise me if people write one, but again .. this shoudnt be something left on blizzard to write,.Quote:

DKP is a player created system for awarding loot, not a game mandated one. The loot system in WoW at the moment consists of three settings:
1. Round Robin - Each member will be able to loot a mob in turn. With the death of the first mob, player A will be the only one allowed to loot that mob, Player B will be able to loot the second mob, Player C the third, etc. This only counts as first rights, if you have your inventory full, or if it's something you don't want to pick up (there are such things), then when you exit the loot window anyone in your party will be able to loot the corpse. No one outside your party will ever be able to loot your kills.
2. Free for All - pretty much self explanatory. First come first serve. Twitch looter's wet dream, :) Again, the mobs will only be able to be looted by members of your party.
3. Master Loot - One person is the designated looter, only they have rights to loot a corpse at first. Once they leave the corpse, it is open to the rest of the party to loot.
Only the Party Leader (who is designated with a little crown icon in the corner of his party portrait) can set the type of looting that will occur. The default is Round Robin, and it generally works great. I would use Master Loot or Free for All if someone is really trying to finish a collection quest, and everyone else has the required number or something.
As far as parse programs, there are probably some in the works. I switched to a custom UI, which shows DPS of weapons in the weapon description, was really funny to see someone auction that they wanted to buy a 1hand mace greater than 17 dps. Had i not had this UI, i would have had no clue what the dps of my mace or 2 hand sword is.
My first griffon ride was in the Horde push in Alpha. I went from the Crossroads to Origrammar (i can never spell this correctly~) i was lvl 10-11 i think, had just run there following a quest. For the Alliance push, once i found the griffons in Stormwind, i was amazed to see i could fly up to the Dorf capital. Unfortunately, it cost 50cp and for a noob such as myself, i had spent that money buying my lvl 4 abilites and some armor from a vendor, so i didnt take that trip until i was lvl 10ish again following a quest.
You can scrape together 50 coppers for the Ironforge/Stormwind flight by level 4 or 5, but yeah, you need it at that point. Getting a silver to burn is usually a little later, in my experience.
Having said that, you see people moving level 3 and 4 characters to human or dwarf lands to be with their friends, so it's not impossible, if that's what you're after. I honestly think you miss out some if you don't play the earliest quests in your own homeland, though.
Does one ever get to high level to go back and do quests?
No, you can still do level 3 quests when you're level 40 provided you haven't done the quest before. The only thing is that the quest will be so low level for you that the NPC will no longer show a yellow exclamation point. If you right click on the NPC, you will still get a quest and if you accept it, the other NPCs that you need will then have the appropriate yellow question marks above their heads like normal.
Ahh, good.
Whoops, I meant Night Elf, that's the problem with posting when you're tired, don't know how you're spelling sometimes.
No worries, rather amusing pun, I thought.
Questions: About how long does it take to get from, say, level 1 to level 10, for a standard (3hrs a day-ish) player?
Do monsters on land aggro you if you're in the water and vice versa? (Could I sneak through the higher level zones Solid Snake style by staying in the water and hoping the sharks don't find me?)
If you're not exploring, looking at the interface, playing with /emotes (all the first time player stuff), you can get to level 10 in three or four hours.
Land/water aggro seems to be mostly based on line of sight, like most of WoW. Murlocs and crocolisks in particular like to sit in shallow water and run out and aggro people near water on shore. But I've never had something see me from land when I was totally submerged in the water.
Of course, water in high level zones typically has its own hazards.
I was simply curious if there were any blizzard or third party programs such as
EQ DKP that would help with loot distribution at guild events. Succesful guilds have a fair and equitable loot division system in my experience is all. Unfortunately I have seen angst and drama over everything from half a stack of low level tradeskill items to the items off the meanest mob a guild could kill.
I would greatly prefer to not have those sort of problems arise in the first place if at all possible. People are people and they will give you their best effort and ideas if they feel like they are being fairly compensated for their time.
Most 3rd party programs don't get written until after the game is released... Give it a little time.Quote:

Not sure why people would write a replacement for EQ DKP. It's not really EQ specific.
No computer program can compensate for human nature, sorry. Even if it were possible to create the "perfect" loot system, you will still get situations where someone is not happy.Quote:

IMO.
Depending on how much scripting players are allowed to have in retail, I wouldn't be surprised to see some custom scripts that automate a lot of the DKP process using the raid functionality.
It seems like everyone who is playing beta right now likes the game how it is at this point, they may have small problems or thoughts here and there, but Blizzard seems to hop on those as they appear, so my question to all you beta, and alpha people, on a scale of 1 to 10, where does WoW rank at this point?
Bear in mind that I said "at this point", which means that obviously there will be improvements down the line, hopefully, and if you have any major problems with the game, let them be known and fixed so that WoW turns out to be the greatest mmorpg ever.
8
A solid 7, moving up to 8. Still some kinks to work out.
6, only because I have hellacious video problems, but I am playing though it. Once Druids and Hunters are in, it should be a 7 or 8.
Thanks a lot for sharing this info and answering questions, Mr. and Mrs. Dustyboots with friends :) Takes some hours to get through, but it's worth it.
I have experience from EQ, AO and a few other, short-time acquaintances. They all have their ways and their features, and if WoW does everything right they will steal the best and forget the rest - and what they don't have now they might get with time. Community usually gets what they ask for - that's one of the great things about MMOG's. Maybe Gnomes will get mechanical steeds...
Personally I like pirates. Have you seen any pirates in WoW? Will someone with a piratical attitude thrive in WoW you think?
Piip Ignatz
There are pirates all over the game. There are quests to kill them because they pillage and ranstack stuff the NPCs need back! :p
There are even swashbuckler shirts in the game you can wear. In Booty Bay, there is a tauren wearing a pirate hat -- looks mighty fine!
Oh yeah, there's a vendor in Booty Bay (currently devoid of inventory) labeled as having "pirate supplies" ... hmmm! :D
Anyone seen the april fool joke on www.blizzard.com?
Two-headed ogres played by two players. lol.
Edit: Never mind there's already a thread for that.
"...one more four hour session?" Can you return to an instanced dungeon and have the same areas you cleared still be clear, or do you have to kill your way back through the repops?Quote:

There's also a human pirate in Menethil Harbor that blows you a kiss every time you want to sail to the night elf lands. So cute. <3
This is the only thing I've heard so far about WoW that disappoints me. Assuming relative level power works the same as it did in EQ, a fully equipped level ten character would be at least 100 times more powerful than a naked level one character. (That figure is not just hyperbole, btw; that's what I figure actually it comes out to when you multiply, not just add, improvements in defense, hitpoints, offense, damage, etc.)Quote:

Etcetera. It just seems to me like a huge blown opportunity to fly by your first 10,000% progression. I know nobody knows the "endgame" yet, but isn't it safe to assume that at some point it will take countless hours to get an extra 10% improvement in overall power?
Am I the only one who could care less about being powerful in an RPG, but only about getting powerful?
Actually, at level 10, you're probably no more powerful than you are in EQ, and relative to your power when you start off at level 1, it's less of a power-up than it is in EQ.Quote:

Honestly, while you don't start off as frail as you do in EQ (you start off ridiculous in EQ, in my mind), you also don't progress as far as quickly.
The relative power growth in EQ between level 1 and 20 is probably replicated in WoW from level 1 to 30 -- you start off better, but you don't explode in power nearly as quickly. And, of course, it's worth noting that WoW is designed for higher level content from the beginning; there may be a cap of 60 now, but the game has content through level 99, so there shouldn't be any EQ style spikes when the level cap is raised.
Sorry to belabor this -- I don't know if it's because I don't know what you're talking about or whether you don't see what I'm getting at. Is it still safe to say that a level 10 WoW character is at least 10 times as powerful as a level 1? Or even only two times as powerful?Quote:

The kind of money sinks you're talking about appear to be set amounts per level. Once the game begins to stabilize, this will actually do nothing to prevent wildly disparate wealth accumulation, and might actually make it worse in a relative sense. All a person would have to do is get to a high level and stop questing for a few hours to farm plat that will look like a king's ransom to a newbie. If twinking is possible, it will be done.Quote:

This has to do with my NE Rogue that will have to wait until the retail version of WoW is available.
According to the beta site, the stealth ability increases with how well you use it (ie: toy with a monster by getting aggro in stealth mode, but then stopping all movement to make the monster lose sight of you), does this mean that you can just run around screwing with the different monsters in stealth mode so that you can have a level 1 or 2 Rogue that is incredibly difficult to spot, or does it also progress along with the char's level, so it can improve only so much at a time?
Obviously this question was for those of you who have played a Rogue in beta, or even alpha.
i believe that all skills are capped at 5 points per level (i.e. a level 10 rogue can only have a stealth skill of 50 max)
I'd say maybe five times as powerful. Certainly a level 10 can die to a pack of level 1 creatures with relative ease -- and not even a large pack at that.Quote:

Other than being able to ride the griffons over and over and over, and getting a guild tabard early, it's really not going to make a huge difference. The breaks on twinking and gear imbalance aren't based on cash because, as MMORPG vets know, that's a short-term solution that an aging economy takes outside and beats the shit out of in short order.Quote:
All a person would have to do is get to a high level and stop questing for a few hours to farm plat that will look like a king's ransom to a newbie.
Yeah, but it really isn't going to make that much of a difference.Quote:
If twinking is possible, it will be done.
Let's say I have a friend called Schmizbang, and his wife Schpedi, has saved him up a binds-on-equip double barreled shotgun and one handed axe for him to use when dwarf hunters become available. Anything binds-on-equip is pretty much top end, by definition, in WoW. So this future dwarf hunter my friend Schmizbang will have, he'll get twinked with a great melee weapon and a great range weapon in his mid-teens. Sounds pretty bad, doesn't it?
I've done the DPS info -- the gear is about 10 percent better than the store-bought stuff at that level, and that's it. The difference simply isn't that noticeable, if you assume that most players will be upgrading regularly (and they do). If you upgrade about as soon as you can, the difference between someone who has the best gear and someone who has average gear is pretty minimal.
The biggest disparities in WoW are with people who take forever to upgrade, or who don't figure out what stats they want to concentrate in, and have sort of wishy washy stats as a result. But remedies are available even to them, as a local enchanter will be happy to take their silver and add the more useful stuff as buffs atop their substandard equipment, and things get balanced out relatively quickly.
There are loot whores in WoW, as in all MMORPGs, but this isn't EQ. No level 5s with staffs from the Plane of Tactics. No one getting raided into the elemental planes to loot a weapon strong enough to trivialize the Tier 1 planes.
It is level capped, but you can buy a talent (Stealthy) to raise the cap a little with each purchase, as you can with the Defense skill.
Sadly, it's true, at least in my experience. I twinked the hell out of my Priest, as much as I could, and I die a lot, as much really as I would with regular gear for my level. :/ It's more of knowing how to play than getting by on gear (and I'm still learning my Priest, haha). ;)Quote:

Strangely, this thing that you like so much is IMO one of the absolute worst "features" of just about every MMORPG. I find it pretty rediculous the way you start off in the world so weak that you are threatened with death by fighting a rat. Not to mention the fact that in a lot of games (EQ, DAoC) the early levels give you no real abilities so they tend to be incredibly dullQuote:

Again, I REALLY appreciate the work you have put into this thread. Blizzard should be paying you for this.
mmm i've always hated the "beginner killing rats" syndrom , ok you mustnt be too powerful at the start but sometimes its just ridiculous !! thx god , the wow game seems interesting from the start...
so it seems that a new push is coming pretty soon whohooo!!!Quote:
Sorry all, I should have realized what day it was today and held off posting this until tomorrow. It's not an April Fools joke although I wish I could say it is.
Bad news - big download.
Good news - last one and a great new push!
The new push will be soon, but no definite on the date .. I'll let you know as soon as I know.

Now some speculations : we already know that the lvl cap will be now 35 , but a huge ebta file does that mean the return of the horde :p ???and maybe the druids :p
It had better be. I am going into tree-huggin withdrawal. One of the quests I did last night involved be given a "loaner" one charge magical item that turned me into a large Feline predator. I tell you the whole experience of shapeshifting may just sell me on this game more than anything else. I hope the experience is similar for the druid forms.Quote:
and maybe the druids
Your handle seems familiar. Did you use to play a druid named Krristin? (Or something of that spelling variation.)
yep. Hi Leopa.
They've said both unlocking the Horde and releasing druids are planned parts of the next patch.
It's not a huge download because of that, it's because they did some data restructuring. Future patches (like level 40 + hunters) will be just regular push patches like EQ players are used to.
will Pirate hats be something nonNPCs get? Please say yes because that would simply be the best thing I have heard about this game.Quote:

And again, there's that "pirate supplies" vendor in Booty Bay that is planned to sell ... something. Poofy shirts, red sashes, cutlasses, black shiny boots, eye patches and pirate hats would be beyond cool. Hell, stick some rum on there and maybe some guns, too.
How about a parrot?
Question: For those of us who have not played WoW yet, where is Booty Bay?
And for the record, pirates need to be in every video game known to man.
Southernmost tip of Azeroth, in Stranglethorn Vale lands.
I love this forum, ask a question and it tends to have an answer within a few minutes or so.
:)
It's not easy to get to as a low level character. Somewhere on this forum i described my journey there (apparently the hard way) at lvl 20 which took 5 deaths and about an hour since i didn't use the spirit healer to rez me for 2500 xp.
I'm waiting to run across a gnome in a big floppy hat with a parrot on his shoulder saying "ARrrrrgh, Matey!"
If he dances, i might fall onto the floor in laughter.
Just for fun I think it would be cool to a pirate parrot as a pet, little eye patch, little bandana, the whole deal.
