You might have a lvl 5 character with the nicest of weapons found in game, but the way the system in place now works, is he couldn't equip it untill he gained about 50 levels. It doesn't really do him much good sitting in the bank, and by the time he hits lvl 50 or so and can equip it, it might not be the greatest thing anymore.
Some pirate shots!

What it looks like when someone uses a gun. (I still can't believe I caught a picture of a bullet heading at me in the picture above!)

Edit: The NPC actually cocks the gun before firing. Pretty neat animation.
The pirates are great, now I want to see ninjas.
Oooooh! Those screenshots are so great! What am I to do while I wait for this? Gnomes, pirates, engineering, Trolls, flying, arquebuses and gift wrapping all in one game - can it get any better?
Oh, and pointy hats.
Oh man, the pirate chicks are so hot. :D
Er, I mean, very nice art and models there. Yes, very nice. c.c
I've been meaning to ask about ranged weapons. Are guns always more powerful than bow & arrows? Makes sense, but from a fantasy roleplaying aspect, kinda takes all the fun out of the elvish archer type character. I can see a human or a dwarf using a gun, but to me, an elf should use a bow, and shouldn't be penalized for it. The bows should be just as powerful as guns, but just different for variety's sake. ?
No, guns/bows/crossbows/thrown weapons seem to be about the same. Having said that, engineers can make VERY nice guns, and so far, all other ranged weapons are dropped, quested or vendor-sold only.
Oh, and for pirate lovers: Farm the murlocs along Longshore in Westfall to loot a treasure map that leads to pirate treasure. :D
Am i the only one to find the polices and way the text of the names appear pretty ugly , and to hope that those changes ?? Ok i know that the whole is customisable but still i hope for lter changes :p
PS : here is the link to an insanely huge and yet pretty good review of the actual WoW beta (i was even more amzaed that it came from the dumpstore named the oficial forum :p)

The concept of DKP isnt EQ-Specific, I'm sure it would not be that hard to adapt current EQ DKP-type programs to fit in with WoW. hQuote:

Omg, there is a thread already with a link to that.
In addition, NeoLucifer, you already posted a link to that in this very thread. Do you work for the Department of Redundancy Department? x.x
The pirate Tauren and Trolls are hilarious. What do the circles around their feet mean? I've seen these in every screeenshot so far. I'm guessing that they tell you how appropriate the NPC is for your level or whether the NPC is hostile or friendly. If it only takes about three to four hours to hit level ten without messing around, is this indicative of the rest of the leveling chart? Does it start to slow down after that? If not, it seems like everyone would be at the end game within a week or two, regardless of how often they play.
well i love long posts ahahaha , but i didnt see someone else posted it
YOu can delete that post, you know? Might help others who don't want to scroll through the whole thing.

I have a feeling the leveling is accelerated for Beta - how much? meh - but voiceing concern over being able to get to 10th level in a matter of hours is pre-mature. Perhaps when the next wave of testers, or even the open beta that's been talked about occurs - and newbs are leveling to 10 in a few hours... that'd be a better time to worry about such things.
Me, I like the fact that it doesn't take too terribly long to level right now - I'd be really upset if all the beta testers were restricted to the teens due to time constraints. If the middle and upper levels aren't tested now, then we'll all be beta testing the final release - and that won't be much fun at all, will it? ;)
Demetrius
well i'm still finding normal to have accelerated leveling in beta testing , still it might be obvious that leveling might not be as long and tedious than in , lets say Eq . But from what have been told so far the main focus wont be leveling , and power builds , its all about fun , so i'll just wait and see if there'll be fun contents in the end game
I don't think your argument makes any sense Demetrius. If Blizzard were to speed up the leveling process for Beta, that would give them false reports on it. If they simply reduced the XP needed to level, or increased all rewards by a certain percent, they might find that leveling went too slow or fast in the actual game. My point is, you don't purposely change things in Beta to expedite the process, because it might become a problem later on.
