Still WoW...
plus GT5 Prologue and GTA4 now!
I can't wait for GT5 ... looks like they'll 1up themselves with this one.
I have no idea how this actually happened but I've been playing Guitar Hero III lately... I once swore that I would never play these games but my sister got the Wii version and I had fun with it so I went out and bought the 360 version. It's a good game to play when you don't want to think too much. And the new Muse track pack rocks. Stockholm Syndrome is a lot of fun.
I'm also playing Final Fantasy X right now. In the past few months I've gone through VII, VIII, IX and now I'm on X.
I've basically stopped playing WoW, again, because I don't really want to play gear catch-up to compete in PvP.
So I went back to a game where I can compete regardless of gear - TF2.
GTA4 here :)
Wii Mariokart
Has anyone else had the experience with GH3 that it's not the same as GH1/2? The control interface is different. Perhaps it's just me - I'm hypersensitive about these things.
And if you have seen the difference, have you also tried Rock Band? Does it have the natural continuity of guitar-control from the original series, or is it more buffer-esque like GH3?
I finished Bully. It wasn't as deep as I thought it was going to be, gameplay or story wise. It was however, still a ton of fun. The variety of things to do was great, and the missions were highly entertaining.
Still playing both crisis core and the world ends with you on the side. Crisis core sort of annoys me because the optional stuff seems designed specifically to take freaking forever.
Got the Penny Arcade game that came out the other day. I'm a little worried it will be too short to justify the twenty dollars, but that probably won't stop me from getting the next episode whenever it comes out.
So far it plays like an interactive jrpg (think the handheld mario rpgs, pressing space to block, minigames to pull of special attacks, etc), but with an old school point and click adventure inspired non combat mode. I think it's important to note that it is an rpg and not an adventure game, it just has the same charm as one. You move around clicking on objects and get silly descriptions and actions. There haven't really been any really major puzzles to speak of.
It really is very charming though. Probably less so if you aren't a fan in the first place. The enemies have a lot of character. The fruit humping robots in particular are very disturbing in motion, heh. Can throw an orange into combat to distract them, very not right, not right at all! :D
The character creator is less extensive than I imagined, but I still found the options to be highly amusing. For some reason the guy options are far more elaborate than the girl options. Both get 3 different sets of clothing to wear, but the guys have far more facial expressions. I ended up making a guy that reminded me of Chief Quimby from Inspector Gadget.
Upon meeting the duo.
Tycho: Oh, were you the guy with his mouth agape in terror?
Gabe: Agape?
Tycho: It means open.
Gabe: You know what else means open? OPEN.
I binged the freaking heck out of this game. I got a good 6-8 hours of it, so I am pretty pleased with the value I got. I found the game to be highly enjoyable. A few of the fights were even somewhat challenging!
If a lovecraft parody with potty humor, simple rpg mechanics, and weirdness in general sounds amusing to you, then it should be worthwhile. If you are prone to rush straight through games and mainly care about meaty game systems skip it or wait for a discount.
Flow of the game goes like this: explore area - have weird conversation with weird npc - kill enemies for npc or find item for npc - repeat. With a few bosses and activated environment items sprinkled throughout. Flash movies appear at certain points to advance the story.
Characters level up to learn new attacks, and collect robot parts to upgrade their weapon. You also get permanent bonus damage (up to a point) if you kill an enemy with a perfectly executed special attack. That's pretty much the extent of the character upgrades and gameplay.
very much enjoying tf2, wow, elite beat agents and mariokart right now. playing REwii occaisonally too, thinking about getting a ps3 for re5 (also singstar/rockband) but don't really fancy going back to the traditional control setup.
looking forward to the remake / new version of ufo : enemy unknown thats apparently happening again.
Yes, me again. Yes I know, I know.
So I picked Crysis from Circuit City for 20 dollars. I figure I will beat it before Mass Effect comes out next week. It's fun so far but I swear it is the buggiest game I have played in years.
The installer and patching system in particular is without a doubt the WORST I HAVE EVER SEEN. Installing seems to take an hour and you actually have to enter the task manager and force some of the stuff it starts up to close manually in order to finish the installation. The patcher is also extremely sensitive, and refuses to install if you have altered any of your files at all. It took me awhile to figure it out, but it apparently thought my crysis beta folder was a sign of piracy, and I had to get rid of it to patch the game.
The worst part of the worst part of crysis (the installing), it doesn't install any shortcuts in the start menu. Fine, whatever, its a Games for Windows branded game so the shortcut goes into the my games folder instead. Only problem is, that shortcut doesn't actually start the game, it just opens the saved games folder.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Rest assured, there are normal bugs too. Sometimes the mouse pointer gets desynched on the menu screen, at one point it refused to load any of my saved games, sometimes it crashes while loading.
Right now I'm on the second level...anyone who has played the game nod your head knowingly upon reading that? :p
Fun when I get to play it, and the bugs aren't so numerous that they interrupt gameplay, but whenever I do run into one it takes a ridiculously long time to resolve.
I started up Lego Star Wars II again on the PSP and took over where I left it sitting weeks ago. It's so much fun I actually ordered the PS3 version (which has all episodes) to play on the big screen.
I've been playing Age of Conan these past few days, trying to decide if I'll stick with it.
GTA4 is on hiatus since I don't particularly enjoy the "later" (~halfway) missions.
I'm also trying to scrounge up the motivation to complete the 100cc class in Mario Kart Wii, but I find that the randomness factor that makes multiplayer games so fun annoys me a lot in single player.
castlevania: Aria of Sorrow and harmony of dissonance. Aria is better.
That does sound pretty lousy, but IMO it still doesn't beat Blizzard's joke of a downloader. Any game that forces its players to get required patches from untrusted 3rd-party sites is unacceptable; when it's the 10-million-subscriber market leader, that's mind-boggling. Hopefully they've made some improvements over the past year, but that system needed a lot more than some tweaking.
Still playing GTA4, just unlocked Alderney.
Still playing rock band with the roommates.
Sadly, smash bros brawl sits unplayed as my roommates don't like the game.
Playing contra 4 on DS after beating phantom hourglass, i'm trying to beat all 40 challenges on contra 4.
I need a new PC to play any new games, I like TF2 but it takes 5 min to load to a server and then it's sitting at 20fps.
Tried TF2. Made me motion sick. Uninstalled.
Picked up Pirates of the Burning Sea for 12 bucks at Target. Will not be continuing the sub after 30 days.
Finally making progress in Lost Oddyset. Still scared by the fact that all the female characters have huge breasts, and that the Queen appears to have blue varicose veins on hers.
*shudders*
80 hours later, having finally beaten Persona 3 on hard, I've decided to take a break before playing the expansion. The last boss was ridiculous. I felt like I was raiding WoW. It was probably one of my favorite RPGS ever though and I'm glad JPRGS can still be good.
I also beat GTA last week. Great game, but they're were obviously rushing towards the end. The "choice" at the end pissed me off too.
Now I'm playing God Hand and Viva Pinata with some CoD4 multi on the side.
My computer plays TF2 smooth as silk, but it still takes multiple minutes to load a game. :/Quote:

I have no idea why it takes so long, but it's pretty annoying. If you're willing to give it another try, I've heard that changing the field of view can help. Or at least, I've heard that it can help with Half-Life 2, and I imagine the two could be similar.Quote:

IIRC to fix HL2, you got to the console and type fov 90. You could try it with TF2 I suppose though I think it already is 90.
Really? Mine takes a bit to load, but it's nowhere near as long as what you're saying. The most I have to wait it like a minute to launch the game. That's not to say it isn't an annoyance though. I always love when I've been waiting for an hour to join the server I want to play on, only to have it tell me the server is full again once it loads the game and starts connecting me. I had that happen tonight. I've just gotta learn to keep the game open if I want to do autojoin.
Google's telling me that the default FoV for both is set to 75 (I just checked and that is the case with TF2). "fov_desired 90" in the console will change it, though.I just timed it. It took me a minute and a half to launch the game, another minute to load the menu, and just under 2 minutes to join a server. Sometimes it feels faster, but I don't see why it takes nearly that long to begin with. :/Quote:

Been playing "Pool of Radiance 2 assault on myth drannor" again...with only 2 characters, to see how it goes and cause I've got a want for D&D ;)
Finiel,
nope, actually ;)
1) there's always RELOAD, lol
2) I've played it before so know what to expect, roughly
3) Dwarf rogue/fighter, elf cleric is a great combo.
4) Use tactics ;) Dwarf fighter/rogue has sneak attack AND improved critical, hehe
5) Only two guys so they get to wear the best treasures, no splitting with the party!
just gets hairier on the bits with lot of enemies, or the bastard wraiths/spectres who're way overpowered versus your characters.
So I've used things like staff of Flamestike, Ring of COne of Cold etc a lot.
What's bad htough is the game starts you at level 1, FFS!! I hate that, and the orogs have stupidly high ACs, liek AC 26 etc.

And AOC on the PC.
While WoW is my game of choice, and I play it more than anything else, I'm having alot of fun with Resident Evil 4 on the Wii. Very well done horror game.
My wife feels the same way. I don't hate it at all. In fact I think it is "best in class" without a doubt. But there is something about the level 70 game that makes me look for reasons / excuses not to play. I start inviting people over so I can cook for them and do other things just so I don't have to log in. EQ2 was the same way after the shine of the latest expansion wore off (and the story abruptly ended at level 22 or so). I realize its a personal thing; a thing I lack, more then a thing the game lacks. If I ever return to WoW it will be to level up Barcha from 51 to 70. I have yet to do any of the higher end Alliance quests. I can't imagine ever wanting to play another horde character after leveling so many, and being so disappointed with the pvp.
I know what you mean. I wouldn't say it's something lacking in you. You just got burned out on MMO's. I felt the same way about Everquest near the end of my gaming time there. If you ever do decide to come back to WoW, look me up in game and I'll be happy to help.
There will definitely be plenty to do once Wrath of the Lich King comes out. :)
I played a half hour of TF2 last night after sliding the FoV slider to 90, and except for maybe ten seconds of twinge, I felt decent.
I did some digging on WoW as far as finding the way to change the field of view in-game however was only able to come up with a way to enable the in-game console, as well as a list of commands, but not a way to set it.
So I tried something like "set fov 90" and it said something like "writing COpt" but even after logging out then back in there was no appreciable difference in the camera view... but I didn't stay online long enough to test it. Was too tired after playing TF2 for a half hour painlessly ;)
My copy of Race Driver: GRID came in today and I'm enjoying it a lot.
If you like racing games at all, you have to give this one a try.
Mass Effect. Weeeeeeee. Pew pew pew!
I just finished up The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. What a fantastic game for Zelda fans. If you loved Ocarina of Time - you're going to lose your mind for Twilight Princess. Everything good from Ocarina, but with improvements and more fun on top of it. Can't say enough good things about this game. Can't believe I waited so long to try it out. Stop playing whatever crap you're playing now, and go get this game ;)
Now playing:
Lord of the Rings Online
MVP 2005 (modded heavily to be current)
Out of the Park Baseball 9
Tennis Masters Series 2003
Sims 2
Hellgate: London
And, I guess, WoW, if you count having a subscription as playing.
twilight didnt really work for me, the DS zelda is amazing tho (apart from dungeon / temple) best zelda since 3.
I've nearly finished up with Need For Speed : Carbon. Actually, I finished the story mode then started working on the achievements and found that one of them required that I start all over again as I needed to earn a million.
So I restarted, this time doing all the challenges before I started the storyline (couldn't face going straight into it). This unlocked a Nissan 240SX, which I bought, installed only a turbo in, and then despite it being a Level 1 car I've then completed the storyline mode all the way up to the very last boss. It was actually easier to win races than it was the first time I played through when I kept my car constantly upgraded. Thats one thing that really annoys me about NFS games, that they become easier when you race without upgrades. I can't quite beat the last boss that way, it looks doable but I've got a bit bored so I'm playing some other stuff for a bit.
New games are currently Sims 2 and Galactic Civilisations 2. Gal Civ 2 is pretty fun and is sucking huge amounts of my time but I'm getting annoyed that every time I maybe get lucky with a couple of size 18 planets, only to explore into the AI's territory and find size 26 and size 32 planets. Every single time. Its not even a question of beating them to it as invariably these are almost ajacent to their starting system.
Super Paper Mario
Wow, if you count logging in once every 2 weeks.
/sigh, Wife has been stealing TV for dancing and other such suck.
LOZ:TP was a huge let down for me, and I say that as someone who worships at the altar of Zelda.
The world was meh and by this point I feel like I'm just going through the motions. I didn't need another similar dungeon where I get my bow, boomerang, etc. Some of the newer stuff was cool though. I liked the spinner dungeon and boss a lot.
At least there wasn't sailing.
You know, I think the only problem with twilight princess is that it's relatively long. But if you're not trying to slam through it - I found it quite enjoyable. Oh well - to each his own.
I really enjoyed Gannon at the end - excellent boss fight imo.
I don't usually mind long RPGs and action adventures. Twilight Princess's problem is that about halfway through, you're out of surprises. All that remains are repetitions and minor variations, including the boss fights.
I also felt very constricted and sorely missed having a truly open, explorable world.
Funny, I just finally got around to playing it myself just before this thread was created. I enjoyed it a good bit, while I did think something felt off, I wasn't disappointed half as much as everyone else seemed to be.
mech commander 2, and (still) civ3 with warhammer expansion on HUGE maps (the match takes like 3-4 weeks). Currently for Amazonians and Reiksland Empire. Surfing the web in between saves/redos :)
Star Wars: Empire at War, multiplayer. In fact, if anyone wants to play a game, I am up for it. It will be a good chance to boost your ego because I suck.
Dominions 3 - This game looks so simple, but it's incredibly deep. Fantasy, turn-based strategy. Easily the best I've played in this genre, but you do need to look past the poor graphics to enjoy it.
Age of Conan - Fun for now. I'll probably max level my HoX and then back to WoW or Warhammer Online.
I"m currently playing through GTA4 when I can get on the 360.
I'm also playing poker again online, so I guess that counts.
I'm reinstalling DDO. Anyone still playing? I was on Ghal when I quit, so I'm assuming my characters are still there. If I could get a guild invite, that would be very cool.
I'm playing through Kingdom Hearts again, on the PS3. The graphics still look pretty damn good for being blown up on a high-res flat-panel TV. I'm at the end of the game, working up the optional bosses. Next will be KH2, of course.
I might work through FFX again. The only bit I can't stand about these awesome games with the FMV cut scenes is the inability to skip the cut scenes.
I'm playing Warriors Orochi which is a combination of Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors and it is awesome. Panned by reviewers of course, like all warriors games, but taking control of an ancient chinese badass and slaughtering hundreds of dudes never gets old.
Also playing Rogue Galaxy on my PS2. I had never even heard of it until recently when I got it real cheap used. I love a good action RPG. Also, a JRPG hero that looks, dresses, and sounds like a man and not a little girl? Great, even if he is mostly lifted directly from Luke Skywalker.
Still going strong on Gal Civ II - moved onto the Twilight of the Arnor expansion now. Theres a patch out now which fixes the annoying research bug and a few other problems though some people seem to be having a lot of trouble getting it to update.
Twilight requires quite a different playing style, especially for the colony rush at the beginning, you have to walk quite a fine line to avoid utterly destroying your economy and still grab as many planets as possible.
Played one Immense size map but my computer was really struggling towards the end so I've been sticking to Large more recently. I can finish a game in a few days instead of the few weeks that Immense took me.
Also recently picked up Thief : Deadly Shadows, Hitman : Contracts and Prey. Yet to play Thief but Hitman and Prey have been enjoyable so far.
Picked up last week Conan for the 360 at BB for $9.99. Have to say it's was WELL worth it. Kinda like God of War lite, but, lots of fun.
finished all the GTA4 missions. Now I'm goofing around for jumps and doves. ~70% so far...
Oh and I have to do all the "friends" as well (the blue people icons on the map).
I also picked up GTA: Vice City Stories for the PSP the other day, and have GTA: Liberty City Stories for the PS2 sitting here since ~ christmas (untouched so far).
Plus Lego Star Wars for the PS3, I'll start that next week I think.
Oh and GT5: Prologue... can't wait for the release of GT5...
Spent the last couple of weeks working through Mass Effect now that it's out for the PC. Not a perfect game, but definitely worth the wait. As someone who usually doesn't like voice acting, I thought it was excellent in this game (I played the female Shepard, which I have heard is the better of the two).
Next, I think I might finally play through Final Fantasy XII... I picked it up last year and never got around to it, but I'm in the mood for some J-RPGing (as well as some lying down on the couch instead of sitting at the computer).
Other than MGS4, I've been playing demos I downloaded onto the PS3, a fairly new feature for me. Civilization Revolutions was in particularly amazing, well worth checking out if you are a Civ fan or even if you were always interested before but a little intimidated by the complex PC nonsense.
I have also been playing Wild Arms 1 off and on for the past few months, it's my small chunk game when I have 15-30 minutes to fill.
Still haven't beaten MGS4 or The World Ends With You.
Finally got Rock Band, so I'm doing that now.
Going through a phase of replaying great games on harder difficulties, so at the moment I'm playing :
RE:4 for the Wii
Bioshock on my 360
Drake's Fortune on my PS3
I'm also slowly working my way through Lost Oddysey on the 360. It's a wierd game for me - I can appreciate it in the intellectual sense, but it does leave me feeling slightly odd about the entire JRPG genre. I'm beginning to wonder if I actually don't like JRPG's that much, I just feel like I should?
Oh, and restarted Twilight Princess on the Wii as I never finished it first time round, and as I'm a complete Zelda newbie I found it absolutely enchanting.
Finally getting around to playing God of War 2. Completely awesome so far. I've got to say though, I didn't die half this many times in the first game.
I also finally played Katamari Damacy. It was weirder than I was expecting, if that is possible. I was impressed with the level scaling, but the controls were poor and the camera was awful. I shelved it as soon as I finished, not bothering for perfection, bonus content, or unlockables.
I do about 5 hours a week of Age of Conan, and 5 or so in WoW. Not currently using the PS3 for anything other then a movie player, and the occassional GTA4 multiplayer match.
It's all Wii for me right now - too much RL stuff going on to focus on MMO's.
Guitar Hero 3, just beat it on easy (it's my first guitar hero game, shut up :p).
The occasional Boom Blox with my son - and I'll get into Super Smash Bros. when my son gets it on his birthday.
Cancelled Pirates of the Burning Sea, and discontinued/uninstalled EQ and EQ2 and Conan. Cancelled my brother's WoW account, since he doesn't play anymore either. I did update HGL though, but didn't actually play.
Barely touched Wii Fit in almost 2 weeks - too hot in my room and by the time it cools down I'm ready for bed.
Have been bumping my Pokedex in Diamond while breeding in Pearl to fill the Ranch... Mostly doing that when not at home or work or with the gf though so I'm limited to 1hr every other day.
Really am just biding my time for FFIVDS in two weeks.
I’ve decided that Lego Star Wars is the greatest Parent/Child team up game ever made (Although Rock band is close).
I finally bought a DS last week, and am currently playing The New SMB, which is pure fun. After that, I’m going to go Retro on my DS with NES and SNES games.
On break from Conan - if it improves will try it again. If not there is paint to watch dry and that will be more fun. Waiting on War and SC2. Logged into VG, played house and retired my wiz officially in eq 1. Never did care much for eq2 so did not bother.
Most fun I have had so far was downloading a 10 day trial of WoW. ( friend is using my old account and I did not want to mess with it while he is) I leveled an UD lock to 18 and played in WSG. Most fun by far of anything I have done in awhile.
Warriors Orochi is the 2nd 360 game where I maxed out achievements, but I'm still playing. I might be done soon though as I've been trying to solo chaos mode with ginchiyo but she's lv 99 and I've almost fused the perfect weapon and officers still do way way too much damage. Lu Bu would probably 1-shot me. I guess maybe I should have picked a warrior with higher defense.
also started up valkyrie profile 2 since I saw it new for $10.
I'm slowly replaying older games I enjoyed, and digging through ones I bought but never finished. I'll give Witcher another try in Sept. So for now I'm eagerly waiting for Fable2, Diablo3. I really want to play WoTLK but I'm not willing to deal with the backlash of playing an MMO right now. My next MMO will be WoD by CCP which wont be here for 3-5 more years.
I'm playing Vampire the masquerade: Bloodlines, again, lol.
Pal wanted ot paly it and...got me into it again.
Still one of the best games ever made, IMHO :)
I installed all the Baldur's Gate games + expansions and installed BG Tutu (gives you some additions, fixes and lets you play BG 1 with the BG 2 engine. Best part is probably the 50% extra speed in walking).
Started it up today. To slightly overcome the whole issue with the constant "save/load/save/load" in the beginning when something was lucky enough to crit you and oneshot you, I also did a little bit of initial character editing. Didn't give my character extra abilities or power, just started off with 160 hp. Of course now I have to constantly stay in front as my other part memebers have 8 hp, which is crazy little when even the first mobs you see hit for 4 and can crit for 10+. "Imoen is being attacked" "Ahhh I feel.. " "aahhhhhh"
So plan is to finish BG 1 + expansion, import that character to BG 2 and then finish that.
I picked up Alone in the Dark for the 360. It's mostly fun so far (2 "episodes" in) but the lack of balancing/polishing shows.
I never finished that. I got to the final part of the game (the choice) and realized that my character was far too underpowered to complete the game. By then I didn't have any saves left where I could roam freely and level up some more.
Which of the fan patches would you recommend? The one that only fixes bugs or the one that also fixes and unlocks unfinished content? (I was using the latter last time, in an older version)
I've renewed interest in some of my alts in WoW, so I'm having fun playing a prot-turned-fury warrior. Wee!~
Still slugging through Kingdom Hearts 2 for a second time - it's great entertainment for the missus and I. I play our Wii, as well, when I need a bit of music jam on GH3. I still don't like the response mechanism, and I'm hoping my wife is getting me a PS2 for my birthday, this month, so I can go back to GH1/2/80's.
On the GBA, I'm playing through FF4-A, usually to put her to sleep at night. Man, those battles take a long time.
Next up: FFX, maybe more Zelda: Twilight Princess (rental)
I've been kicked from the 360 due to the kids being home, so redownloaded VG and have been playing a little DDO. I'm really, really, really enjoying VG.
Of course, our Graffe's guild is aweful lonely.
Yaxa,
the one that unlocks content is good, but remember to patch this way:
turn off spybot and AVG
install game, restart pc
install offical 1.2 patch, restart pc
install unnoficla patch, restart PC
i say that because I've had problem where the patch didn'tkick in propery because of spybot and AVG, and it's best to restart PC imho between isntalls.
I had problems by not doing that.
Mosat powerful ones are maybe
tremere, with blood purge: stun them bastards blow their heads off with shotgun!
Malkavian with obfuscate 3. sneka around easy and whack 'em with a sword by stealth. THough flame thrower RULES for boss killing.
Brujah, I forget how I did it with brujah but that's what I used 1st go through years ago.
:)
My budget copy of the game is already patched to 1.2 and I don't run an online virus scanner on my gaming PC, but thanks for the hints ;)
My first attempt was with a Malkavian, but I let the game make the skill choices for me and I ended up with a character that sucked at everything :(
Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction for the PS3. Completely fantastic. Naysayers shall be burned at the gaming stake.
Siixaxis use was interesting. Waggle controls in general don't do it for me. Saying they weren't stupid in this game is about the best compliment I can give them.
I'm still playing Alone in the Dark (360) along with Burnout Paradise (360).
I don't regret buying Alone in the Dark, the atmosphere is great (as long as bad controls and/or balancing don't pull you back out again). Wish they'd given the game more time to mature, though.
With my vacation in Texas, I got the thrills again for Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, have picked up FFIVDS, and will be attempting to play my brother's WoW account to see if my brain can handle windowed mode (since no functional FOV options seem to exist).
I'm also still plugging away every few days at Pokemon Pearl.
Racedriver: Grid (PS3)
It's all kinds of awesome for me. I love (LOVE) racing games. And it's perfectly playable without a wheel for the time being.
I looked at maybe 20 demo downloads off PSN in the last 2 weeks and have about 5-7 games lined up for buying. Some really good stuff out there (and some really bland / boring stuff).
Yaxa,
always plan yer own skills :/
Investigation is good, by the way and malkavians have a bonus ot it, so around 5 or 6 you'll find more "goodies" ;)
the susicide type powers are superb, and when improved to the ones that make them attack enemies then die, wow!! they rock. great way to sneka aorund, control 1, then he wipes out others etc, hehe!!!
Seduction/perusasion at 5+ also give lots more options in dialogue.
Stealth is superb, especially for those without invisibility powers.
Melee/unarmed are kind of otugh to use on the "boss" mobs, but bullets are expensive, LOVE the Colt and the .50 pistols, wowzers!
The sniper rifle is useless, ick, unles syou have very high Ranged like 7+ prefferbaly 9 or more, as when zoome din, it wobbles a hell of a lot (higher Ranged feat = less wobble)...but, if it's steady it's 1 shot kill.
Note that the Aurspex (???) power boosts ranged.
Good lockpicking is a must, can get so many goodies or optional ways ot do things, and blood boost will improve it by +2. Note, heavy armour, iirc, reduces that skill, so I take it on/off when needing to pick a hard lock, or a tricky stealth manouvre.
:)
Also, this is what I am playing now! (well gave it to my pal in locla shop who loves old games hehe)
The Invader 1000!!
And NO it's not some kind of kink!!! :sorc:

Loved that wehn I was oh around 12--13 :)
Also got Astro Wars, because when I was a kid, I couldn't afford that one at all, got 'em both cheap off EBay (£5 for the Invader 1000, woot!), gave pal in shop the Astro Wars as he loved it when he was a kid :)
I'm still playing Tales of the Abyss, getting tons of hours out of it. But the past weekend I had no power, and ended up starting a new DS game to pass the time.
A cutesy anime inspired sprite-based action rpg called Summon Night: Twin Age. It sort of plays like a cross between a console action rpg (beyond oasis, something of mana, etc) and a PC styled action rpg (diablo). You use the stylus to "click" on an enemy (or pots and barrels) to trigger a continuous autoattack, or you click on special abilities on a hotbar. You pick a character, and whoever you don't pick becomes an AI partner. Additionally you get one extra AI you choose from a list of characters.
I enjoy sprites, and the story and characters are so juvenile and basic that it makes a welcome diversion from anything that requires my brain, but the game suffers from a few design choices that make it laughably easy.
For starters, when you start the game you have two skills already trained. Your level 1-3 skill, and a level 20-30 skill. Obviously using the latter or letting the AI partner use the latter is hilariously overpowered. After I accidentally killed two bosses (one by myself, and one when the AI used it), I turned it off. The game also gives you 50 items that heal 200 hp, you start the game with 100hp.
Not a big deal if you have self control, but it was still funny. I didn't remember selecting easy mode. The rest of the game has still proved to be very easy so far even without the crutches. Although amusingly enough, the bosses can be extremely challenging. If someone in the party "dies", they are knocked out and come back 5 minutes later. I had one fight where everyone but the healer died and I just ran around in circles waiting for a rez before I could finish the fight. :penguin:
I was replaying the Deus Ex demo, thinking of getting the full game. I wonder why no one has made a clone of this game yet...
I'm playing Vanguard, but not for long at this rate. I'm absolutely Irate right now over everything in game and I want nothing else but to get out of the house, unfortunately, I alone. I'm going to sleep.
LotRO, Out of the Park 9, and WoW. In that order.
I've busted out of my MMO slump, I guess.
My video card died on my desktop so my pc gaming is done for now. I'm finally finishing up the halo 3 campaign, playing FFIV on the DS (still going, having trouble with the first Golbez fight in the Underworld), and playing NCAA 09 with my roommates and online. NCAA 09 is so poorly done this year, there is little to no pass rush, nearly any pass is a completion or interception there are very few dropped passes, and the defensive pass coverage is sad.
All sorts of crazy stuff on my DS since Torcer put me on to the whole homebrew thing.
I'm thinking about slowing down WoW a bit, until the expansion gets here, and working on NWN 2. It's installed, just having had the gumption to go through the tutorial yet (yea, I slack THAT much).
I've been playing a little City of Heroes again and just start Super Mario Galaxy the other night. It is a pretty good game and makes use of the Wii controls very well. I still can't wait for my Xbox 360 to get back though. I have a copy of Too Human that I can't wait to play.
I'm trying to beat all the challenges / super hard on Bionic Commando, finish the last few levels of pixeljunk monsters, and plan on buying castle crashers later tonight for some co-op fun. Who needs full prices games!
Castle Crashers looks completely sweet. Caution though, I've been told it has been screwing up Live connectivity for people who play it. Make sure whatever the problem was is fixed before you jump in.
I finished up Kingdom Hearts I and II, and now I'm going through FFX again. Weee! I had forgotten:
How much chocobo races suck fat donkey turds, with birds bopping you in the face;
How non-skippable cut-scenes can be extremely frustrating the 4th time through; and
How irritating it is to swap through all 7 characters every fight can be.
All told, it's a great experience. I also acquired Dawn of Souls (?), the FF-I remake for the GBA, and I haven't put it down yet. This is awesome distilled from my memories of my youth.
Infinite Undiscovery (360) came in today. Just trying to decide if I want to jump right into it or finish up Drakensang (PC) first.
currently trying to unlock the Silver Surfer on Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.
And WoW, trying to get my original character (Mage) upto Level 70 before WotLK arrives. So I'll have 3 LV70's to choose from :)
Finally playing Too Human (Xbox 360). I love this game. Combat is straight forward, but hectic. Very fun coop and collect loot is addictive.
Having beaten every challenge in bionic commando, I think I have pretty much given up on super hard. On the mygamertag stat tracking site, there's only like 60 people with more achievements than me (beat super hard and hack all hard terminals) and while that's not everyone that's done it, it is a testament to how absurdly hard super hard is. Once I read that they put turrets on the flippy platform section of the albatross, I knew I wasn't going to finish.
I might replay castle crashers on the harder difficulty if my friends choose to; it was a great game but the characters are so similar that it hurts the replayability.
I bought Braid for another XBL platformer and am having fun so far. Rolling my eyes at the "story" but I love the puzzles.
Also bought SMT: Nocturne cheap on an amazon sale a while ago but barely played it because I had so many games at the time and am now going back to it. Annoyed that the PS3 has to have an adapter to read memory cards so I had to start over but also happy I ended up with a BC PS3 at the same time.
