It was way longer than a trilogy -- unfortunately, since the quality tailed off badly after the first three, in my recollection. But those initial books created the modern template for vampires -- without her, there's no Twilight series -- which makes her arguably the most influential horror novelist since Stephen King.
And she helped keep her native New Orleans prominent as a setting for stories. I might never have visited that town if not for her work.
Re: The Graffe's Celebrity Death Pool
Last night we lost one of the legends of Mariachi, Mr Vicente Fernandez. Not one of the three roosters (Infante, Negrete, Solis), but one who carried their traditions from the famous Mexican Silverscreen into the modern Golden age of Cinema, and blended it with modern crooner interpretations of Norteña music.
He was never my go to, as the Gallos were always my preferred, but he repopularized it and kept it afloat, filling stadiums and arenas around the world when he would tour.
Another legend gone, at 81. The same age as my father, born just a few weeks after, and left a few months later.

A genuine local hero, few will have ever heard of even here
Wonder if he knew my Great Uncle Will?

Re: The Graffe's Celebrity Death Pool
You can make a good case that he's one of, if not the most influential figure in NFL history, given his impact in multiple venues:

Harry Reid was getting more and more vocal about UFOs/UAPs since retiring.

I couldn't agree more. As great of a coach as he was he was even better in the booth.

Besides Chick Hearn and Harry Caray (the towers of their respective sports), John Madden is the only other quotable sports announcer.
We've lost all 3 unfortunately.
It will be a long time before anyone can have that kind of awesome for casting any sport.

I guess it had to happen someday, but still feels like "No way!" moment for some reason:

It's People Magazine that needs to apologize, for the "She's 100!" cover they just put out. Major jinx!
