the one that unlocks content is good, but remember to patch this way:
turn off spybot and AVG
install game, restart pc
install offical 1.2 patch, restart pc
install unnoficla patch, restart PC
My budget copy of the game is already patched to 1.2 and I don't run an online virus scanner on my gaming PC, but thanks for the hints ;)

My first attempt was with a Malkavian, but I let the game make the skill choices for me and I ended up with a character that sucked at everything :(

Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction for the PS3. Completely fantastic. Naysayers shall be burned at the gaming stake.
Siixaxis use was interesting. Waggle controls in general don't do it for me. Saying they weren't stupid in this game is about the best compliment I can give them.
Re: The "What Are You Playing Now?" Thread
I'm still playing Alone in the Dark (360) along with Burnout Paradise (360).
I don't regret buying Alone in the Dark, the atmosphere is great (as long as bad controls and/or balancing don't pull you back out again). Wish they'd given the game more time to mature, though.
Re: The "What Are You Playing Now?" Thread
With my vacation in Texas, I got the thrills again for Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, have picked up FFIVDS, and will be attempting to play my brother's WoW account to see if my brain can handle windowed mode (since no functional FOV options seem to exist).
I'm also still plugging away every few days at Pokemon Pearl.

Racedriver: Grid (PS3)
It's all kinds of awesome for me. I love (LOVE) racing games. And it's perfectly playable without a wheel for the time being.
I looked at maybe 20 demo downloads off PSN in the last 2 weeks and have about 5-7 games lined up for buying. Some really good stuff out there (and some really bland / boring stuff).
Re: The "What Are You Playing Now?" Thread
Yaxa,
always plan yer own skills :/
Investigation is good, by the way and malkavians have a bonus ot it, so around 5 or 6 you'll find more "goodies" ;)
the susicide type powers are superb, and when improved to the ones that make them attack enemies then die, wow!! they rock. great way to sneka aorund, control 1, then he wipes out others etc, hehe!!!
Seduction/perusasion at 5+ also give lots more options in dialogue.
Stealth is superb, especially for those without invisibility powers.
Melee/unarmed are kind of otugh to use on the "boss" mobs, but bullets are expensive, LOVE the Colt and the .50 pistols, wowzers!
The sniper rifle is useless, ick, unles syou have very high Ranged like 7+ prefferbaly 9 or more, as when zoome din, it wobbles a hell of a lot (higher Ranged feat = less wobble)...but, if it's steady it's 1 shot kill.
Note that the Aurspex (???) power boosts ranged.
Good lockpicking is a must, can get so many goodies or optional ways ot do things, and blood boost will improve it by +2. Note, heavy armour, iirc, reduces that skill, so I take it on/off when needing to pick a hard lock, or a tricky stealth manouvre.
:)
Also, this is what I am playing now! (well gave it to my pal in locla shop who loves old games hehe)
The Invader 1000!!
And NO it's not some kind of kink!!! :sorc:

Loved that wehn I was oh around 12--13 :)
Also got Astro Wars, because when I was a kid, I couldn't afford that one at all, got 'em both cheap off EBay (£5 for the Invader 1000, woot!), gave pal in shop the Astro Wars as he loved it when he was a kid :)
Re: The "What Are You Playing Now?" Thread
I'm still playing Tales of the Abyss, getting tons of hours out of it. But the past weekend I had no power, and ended up starting a new DS game to pass the time.
A cutesy anime inspired sprite-based action rpg called Summon Night: Twin Age. It sort of plays like a cross between a console action rpg (beyond oasis, something of mana, etc) and a PC styled action rpg (diablo). You use the stylus to "click" on an enemy (or pots and barrels) to trigger a continuous autoattack, or you click on special abilities on a hotbar. You pick a character, and whoever you don't pick becomes an AI partner. Additionally you get one extra AI you choose from a list of characters.
I enjoy sprites, and the story and characters are so juvenile and basic that it makes a welcome diversion from anything that requires my brain, but the game suffers from a few design choices that make it laughably easy.
For starters, when you start the game you have two skills already trained. Your level 1-3 skill, and a level 20-30 skill. Obviously using the latter or letting the AI partner use the latter is hilariously overpowered. After I accidentally killed two bosses (one by myself, and one when the AI used it), I turned it off. The game also gives you 50 items that heal 200 hp, you start the game with 100hp.
Not a big deal if you have self control, but it was still funny. I didn't remember selecting easy mode. The rest of the game has still proved to be very easy so far even without the crutches. Although amusingly enough, the bosses can be extremely challenging. If someone in the party "dies", they are knocked out and come back 5 minutes later. I had one fight where everyone but the healer died and I just ran around in circles waiting for a rez before I could finish the fight. :penguin:
Re: The "What Are You Playing Now?" Thread
I was replaying the Deus Ex demo, thinking of getting the full game. I wonder why no one has made a clone of this game yet...
I'm playing Vanguard, but not for long at this rate. I'm absolutely Irate right now over everything in game and I want nothing else but to get out of the house, unfortunately, I alone. I'm going to sleep.
Re: The "What Are You Playing Now?" Thread
LotRO, Out of the Park 9, and WoW. In that order.
I've busted out of my MMO slump, I guess.
Re: The "What Are You Playing Now?" Thread
My video card died on my desktop so my pc gaming is done for now. I'm finally finishing up the halo 3 campaign, playing FFIV on the DS (still going, having trouble with the first Golbez fight in the Underworld), and playing NCAA 09 with my roommates and online. NCAA 09 is so poorly done this year, there is little to no pass rush, nearly any pass is a completion or interception there are very few dropped passes, and the defensive pass coverage is sad.
Re: The "What Are You Playing Now?" Thread
All sorts of crazy stuff on my DS since Torcer put me on to the whole homebrew thing.
Re: The "What Are You Playing Now?" Thread
I'm thinking about slowing down WoW a bit, until the expansion gets here, and working on NWN 2. It's installed, just having had the gumption to go through the tutorial yet (yea, I slack THAT much).
Re: The "What Are You Playing Now?" Thread
I've been playing a little City of Heroes again and just start Super Mario Galaxy the other night. It is a pretty good game and makes use of the Wii controls very well. I still can't wait for my Xbox 360 to get back though. I have a copy of Too Human that I can't wait to play.
Re: The "What Are You Playing Now?" Thread
I'm trying to beat all the challenges / super hard on Bionic Commando, finish the last few levels of pixeljunk monsters, and plan on buying castle crashers later tonight for some co-op fun. Who needs full prices games!
Re: The "What Are You Playing Now?" Thread
Castle Crashers looks completely sweet. Caution though, I've been told it has been screwing up Live connectivity for people who play it. Make sure whatever the problem was is fixed before you jump in.
Re: The "What Are You Playing Now?" Thread
I finished up Kingdom Hearts I and II, and now I'm going through FFX again. Weee! I had forgotten:
How much chocobo races suck fat donkey turds, with birds bopping you in the face;
How non-skippable cut-scenes can be extremely frustrating the 4th time through; and
How irritating it is to swap through all 7 characters every fight can be.
All told, it's a great experience. I also acquired Dawn of Souls (?), the FF-I remake for the GBA, and I haven't put it down yet. This is awesome distilled from my memories of my youth.
Re: The "What Are You Playing Now?" Thread
Infinite Undiscovery (360) came in today. Just trying to decide if I want to jump right into it or finish up Drakensang (PC) first.
Re: The "What Are You Playing Now?" Thread
currently trying to unlock the Silver Surfer on Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.
And WoW, trying to get my original character (Mage) upto Level 70 before WotLK arrives. So I'll have 3 LV70's to choose from :)
Re: The "What Are You Playing Now?" Thread
Finally playing Too Human (Xbox 360). I love this game. Combat is straight forward, but hectic. Very fun coop and collect loot is addictive.
Re: The "What Are You Playing Now?" Thread
Having beaten every challenge in bionic commando, I think I have pretty much given up on super hard. On the mygamertag stat tracking site, there's only like 60 people with more achievements than me (beat super hard and hack all hard terminals) and while that's not everyone that's done it, it is a testament to how absurdly hard super hard is. Once I read that they put turrets on the flippy platform section of the albatross, I knew I wasn't going to finish.
I might replay castle crashers on the harder difficulty if my friends choose to; it was a great game but the characters are so similar that it hurts the replayability.
I bought Braid for another XBL platformer and am having fun so far. Rolling my eyes at the "story" but I love the puzzles.
Also bought SMT: Nocturne cheap on an amazon sale a while ago but barely played it because I had so many games at the time and am now going back to it. Annoyed that the PS3 has to have an adapter to read memory cards so I had to start over but also happy I ended up with a BC PS3 at the same time.
