The Institution

My councilor asked me to keep an anxiety journal for the next week. Some of it is going to be kept in notepad so I am using this as a way to back it up.

Around 2:15 pm on Monday
Left the counciling center and was planning on stopping by Copper Cellar to put in an application. Felt anxiety (fluttering in my chest). I was thinking about my shaggy hair. "What if I don't get the job?" Level of anxiety: 7.

Each term in the Fibonacci sequence is derived by adding the two preceding terms:

0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21 …

Remarkably, you can use successive terms to convert miles to kilometers:

8 miles ≈ 13 kilometers
13 miles ≈ 21 kilometers

This works because the two units stand in the golden ratio (to within 0.5 percent).

I realized today just how much a person can miss when they drive their car everywhere. I could drive somewhere in ten minutes, but I only get ten minutes of hurried sights. The other option is to walk the distance leisurely taking almost an hour and I get sights, smells, and sounds. Not to mention, valuable exercise is gained.
