    Humanity’s fear of annihilation is as at least as old as human history. Civilizations express this primal fear through various myths. I use the term “myth,” not as commonly understood as “fiction,” but in the anthropological sense of a story expressing a particular cultural meaning.   3. Israeli “Ultimatums” and the Psychology of the Besieged.

    Israel is not issuing ultimatums to anyone, except Iran. It’s clear that even though most countries in the world agree that Iranian nuclear weapons would be disastrous, neither the EU, nor the United States is willing to act in order to prevent Iran from obtaining them. Israel has no choice but to act, or be annihilated, even if that action may ultimately be fruitless.

  5. Cell Phones

    Cell phones drive me nuts. We have all heard the term "electronic leash" and most people don't mind that they can be reach almost anywhere at almost any time of day. I am not one of those people. I find cell phones to be downright annoying. When you are doing something and not want to be bothered, the phone rings because you forgot to turn it off. If you are expecting an important call, it doesn't ring and you spend the day periodically looking at your phone to make sure that you didn't ...
